Stroll through the tiny village of Lake Placid and you'll pass the speed skating oval where Eric Heiden won a record five gold medals in 1980, and the Olympic Center, site of the U.S. Hockey Team's Miracle on Ice. Just down the road sits the bobsled track where Lake Placid skeleton racer Jim Shea trained to win gold in 2002, seventy years after his grandfather Jack won two golds in speed skating.
